GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are two types: the former are especially aimed at the sanctification of the person who receives, and the latter are more properly called charismata , are extraordinary favors awarded to help other , favors too, which do not sanctify themselves, and may even be separated from sanctifying grace. Those of
first type are considered 7 in number, as listed Isaiah (xi, 2.3) where the prophet sees and describes in the Messiah. are the gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge and piety (holiness) and fear of the Lord . Wisdom
: allows us to understand, experience and savor the things of God, to judge righteously.
Understanding : For him, our intelligence is apt to understand intuitively the natural truths revealed and according to a supernatural end have. It helps us understand why the things that God commands us.
Science: our intelligence makes people capable of judging things correctly created according to his supernatural end. It helps us to think and understand things in the world faith.
Council: allows the soul directly intuit what to do in a given circumstance. It helps to be good advisors to others, guiding them through the right path.
Strength: strengthens the soul to do all kinds of heroic virtue with invincible confidence in overcoming the greatest dangers and difficulties that may arise. It helps us not fall into the temptations that we put the devil.
Piety: is a gift that God gives the soul to help you love God as Father and men as brothers, help and respect.
Fear Of God Gives docility soul from sin for fear of displeasing God is the supreme good. It helps us to respect God, to give him his place as the most important and good in the world, to never say anything against him Vigil
